Alleghany Health, an affiliate of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, today announces a formal ribbon cutting and opening date of the new two-story medical office building housing a full range of outpatient services.
“We are truly excited to be a part of this forward-thinking effort for additional services and increased capability to provide surgical services and specialty care with Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist,” commented James Hoekstra, MD, President, High Point Medical Center.
A public open house including tours is scheduled for Saturday, December 11th from noon until 2 pm.
This new facility is culmination of a three phase Capital Campaign and efficiently consolidates primary and specialty care services, urgent care, physical therapy, pulmonary therapy, and rehabilitation services and will start accepting patients on December 6th. Overall, this new facility and other renovations are1,500 square feet larger than the original hospital, incorporates contemporary design features to optimize access to care and the overall patient experience, and provides flexible clinical capacity based on lessons learned during the pandemic.
Rocky Proffit, Chair of the Alleghany Health Board of Trustees stated, “Our focus is the amplification of health care services for all in our area. We believe this project supported by our community and our health care partners will do that now and well into the future.”
Alleghany Health provides regional emergency care, inpatient treatment, and rapid transfers to tertiary medical centers when needed. The goal is to provide the highest level of health care to the community at the best possible value.
